How To Use The File Manager

The File Manager in Recrevio is where you upload and organize all your images, documents, and files. It gives you full control over how your files are stored, shared, and used across your website and circles.

This guide explains how to access the File Manager, upload files, understand the difference between All Images and All Files, and avoid common problems.

Accessing the File Manager

You can reach the File Manager in two main ways:

  1. Through Website Settings

    • Go to Website Settings → File Manager.
    • Choose either All Images or All Files depending on what you want to upload.
  2. Through Widgets While Adding Content

    • The File Manager also opens whenever you add or edit content that requires a file.

      Examples:

      • Uploading an image in the Image Widget
      • Adding a file link in the Button Widget
      • Attaching a downloadable file anywhere on your site

This way, you can manage files either centrally or directly where you need them.

Uploading Files

  1. Open the File Manager.
  2. Select All Images or All Files.
  3. Click Upload a file.
  4. Your uploaded file will automatically generate a unique URL that you can use in your store, pages, or circles.

You can also create folders to keep your files organized.

Choosing Between All Images and All Files

All Images

  • Best for uploading photos.
  • Automatically resizes and compresses large images for faster loading.
  • Works the same way as uploading through the Image Widget.
  • Thumbnails are generated automatically for use in widgets.

All Files

  • Best for uploading documents, audio, video, or images you want to keep in their original size and quality.

⚠️ Uploading an image in All Files will not create a thumbnail for the Image Widget.

Supported File Types and Limits

Images

  • Supports common formats including JPG, PNG, and WebP (recommended).
  • Avoid uploading files larger than 500MB as they will be compressed.
  • Do not use special characters like å, ä, ö in filenames, as they can break links.

Videos

  • Upload possible up to 500MB, but not recommended due to storage use.
  • Use this option only for videos that should be downloadable.
  • Instead, use Recrevio’s built-in video hosting to embed videos on the website, in funnels or in circles.

Audio

  • Supports MP3, MP4, and WAV.
  • Maximum size: 300MB.

PDF and Documents

  • No file size limits.
  • Avoid special characters (å, ä, ö, and symbols) in filenames.

Troubleshooting File Links

If you see an “Access Denied” error when opening a file link, it may be because the file or folder name contains special characters (å, ä, ö, or symbols).

To fix this:

  • Rename the file or folder using only standard letters and numbers.
  • Re-upload the file.
  • Update any links pointing to the old file.

Extra Tip: Free Images from Unsplash

Inside the File Manager, you’ll find an Image Catalog at the bottom left. This lets you search and download millions of free, high-quality Unsplash images directly into your site.

👉 Remember: Unsplash searches only work with English keywords.
