Social Share Image
When someone shares your website or a specific page on social media, a social share image is displayed. Setting this up makes your content look more professional and recognizable.
Default Social Share Image
- Set a general social share image under Website Settings → General Settings.
- This image is used if no specific image is set for a page.
⚠️ Important:
- The image file must be stored in the File Manager in a folder without special characters in the name (avoid å, ä, ö, and symbols).
Page-Specific Social Share Images
Instead of relying only on a default image, you can set unique images for each page and funnel step.
This is highly recommended, since it:
- Makes your content stand out when shared.
- Helps people instantly understand what the page is about.
- Improves click-through rates on social media.
How to set a page-specific image:
- Open the Page Settings for the page you want to update.
- Upload or select an image under Social Share Image.
- Save your changes.
💡 Best practice examples:
- Homepage → Use your logo or a strong brand image.
- Blog post → Use a feature image related to the article.
- Product page → Use a product photo.
Refreshing Images on Social Media
Sometimes social platforms continue to show an old image even after you’ve updated it. This happens because they store (cache) old previews.
Here’s how to refresh them:
- Facebook → Use Meta Sharing Debugger.
- Paste your page URL.
- Click Debug.
- Then click Scrape Again to force Facebook to reload your image.
- LinkedIn → Use LinkedIn Post Inspector.
- Paste your page URL.
- Click Inspect to update the preview.
- Other platforms → Most will update automatically after some time, but clearing your browser cache can help you see the new version faster.
Best Practices
- Always use a default share image for safety, but customize key pages with their own images.
- Use clear, eye-catching visuals with text kept to a minimum.
- Recommended size for social share images: 1200 x 630 px (landscape format).
- Check your links in the Facebook and LinkedIn tools after making changes to be sure the correct image displays.
