How to Create and Save Email Templates

When you send recurring campaigns such as member emails or newsletters, it’s helpful to save time by reusing a template. In Recrevio, you have a couple of different options for creating and managing email templates.

✅ Best Practice

  • Use Option 1 if you want to quickly resend a similar campaign with minimal changes.
  • Use Option 2 or Option 3 if you want reusable designs you can apply across multiple different campaigns.

Option 1: Copy an Entire Campaign

If you want to reuse everything from a previous campaign—including recipients, subject line, and design—you can simply copy (clone) the entire campaign.

  • Go to Marketing > Campaigns
  • Find the campaign you want to reuse
  • Click on the cog icon and choose Clone
  • Adjust the recipients, content, and settings as needed

This option is the fastest if you want to send a similar campaign again with only small changes. Typically a newsletter or member email.

Option 2: Save the Design as a Template

If you only want to reuse the design/layout of a previously sent email (without copying recipients or settings):

  1. Copy (clone) the campaign as described above
  2. Go to the Design step in the campaign editor
  3. Click More > Save as Template
  4. The design will now appear under Marketing > Email Templates > My Templates

Next time you create a new campaign, simply choose your saved template in the regular Create Campaign flow.

Option 3: Create Templates from Scratch

You can also build new templates without starting from an existing campaign. This is useful if you want to create a completely custom design or set up a standard layout for recurring emails.

Go to Marketing > Email Templates

You now have two choices:

  1. Use a Built-In Template to start from
    1. Browse the gallery of Recrevio’s ready-made templates
    2. Click the three dots on the template you want to use
    3. Select Clone
    4. The cloned version will appear under My Templates
    5. From there, you can open and edit it to make it your own
  2. Create a New Template from Scratch
    1. Click the Add New Template button
    2. Start with a blank canvas and build your template using Recrevio’s email editor
    3. Save your design so it’s always available under My Templates

👉 Pro tip

If you often send newsletters, member updates, or event reminders, it’s smart to create a set of base templates (e.g. “Newsletter Layout,” “Event Reminder”) that you can quickly adapt each time.
