How to Import Subscribers

If you are moving your subscribers from another platform into Recrevio, the process is simple: export your contacts as a CSV file, prepare the file for best results, and then import it into Recrevio.

Step 1: Export Your Contacts

From your current platform, export your contacts into a CSV file.

  • Most platforms have an Export option in the contacts or people section
  • Save the file to your computer

Step 2: Prepare the File (Recommended)

Before importing, it’s a good idea to clean and format the CSV file in Excel or Google Sheets:

  • Name fields: Recrevio stores names (first name and last name) in a single field (Name). If your export separates first name and last name into different columns, combine them into one column for best results. Recrevio will automatically split them into first name and last name at the first space.
  • Tags and multi-value fields: If your platform exports tags or similar multi-value fields, make sure they are comma-separated in one column.
  • Custom properties: If your export includes fields that don’t exist in Recrevio, you can create matching properties in Recrevio before importing so you can map them correctly. Go to Contacts > Properties > Create property to easily create custom properties
  • Clean up data: Remove duplicates or empty rows, and make sure all email addresses are valid.

Step 3: Import into Recrevio

  1. In Recrevio, go to Marketing > Lists & Subscribers
  2. Click Add Subscribers > Import
  3. Select an existing list, or create a new one and select that list
  4. Upload your CSV file
  5. Map each column in your file to the correct field in Recrevio

✅ Once imported, your subscribers are ready to use in Recrevio campaigns, automations, lists and segments.

⚠️ Important Notes

  • Unique ID: Recrevio uses email address as the unique identifier.
  • Overwriting data: If a contact already exists, the import will overwrite existing values if the import field is filled. Empty fields will not overwrite existing values.
  • Multi-value fields (e.g. Tags): Values are added to existing data (not replaced).
  • Missing properties: Create custom properties in Recrevio if your file includes fields not already in the system.
  • Registration date: All imported contacts will get today’s date as their registration date. If you want to keep the original registration date from another platform, create a custom property and map it during import.
  • Skip fields: You can easily skip fields you don’t want to import.
