Video Playlist widget

Video Playlists help you organize multiple hosted videos into a structured viewing experience—perfect for courses, lesson series, themed collections, onboarding flows, or content libraries.

With the Video Playlist widget, you control:

  • how the playlist is displayed (sidebar vs grid)
  • how videos behave on playback (autoplay, controls, pause on lost focus)
  • what metadata and engagement features are shown (title, description, reactions, comments, views)
  • how progress is tracked (mark as watched)
  • optional filtering and “collection-style” presentation

With playlists, your videos become more accessible, intuitive, and enjoyable to navigate.

Before you start

Video Playlists work with hosted videos from your platform (uploaded via the Video Manager or directly in the Video widget).

Add the Video Playlist widget

Drag and drop Video Playlist onto a, page, funnel step, blog page, or Circle page. Once placed, the playlist editor opens automatically.

Add videos to your playlist

At the top of the widget settings you’ll see:

  • Selected Videos (count)
  • Add Videos button

Add Videos

Click Add Videos to open the Video Manager, where you can:

  • upload new videos
  • edit existing videos (thumbnail, chapters, comments, etc.)
  • select multiple videos for the playlist

Fast selection tips

  • Select a full folder to add all videos at once
  • Open a folder to select only specific videos

💡 Tip:

While selecting videos for your playlist, you can update individual settings directly from the selection view, such as:

  • Comments management – adjust interaction/visibility settings
  • Chapters – add or refine navigation points
  • Thumbnail – replace with a custom image

This makes it easy to optimize videos before they go live in a playlist.

Arrange the playlist order

After selecting videos, they appear in your Video Arrangement area/folder. Here you can:

  • Sort the order – Drag to rearrange videos into the correct sequence.
  • Adjust playlist flow – Ideal for courses, step-by-step training, or episode-based series.

💡 Tip

If the playlist is meant to be watched in order, set the order first — then enable features like indexes and autoplay next video.

Choose playlist layout

You can display your playlist in two main formats:

1) Video with Sidebar

A main video player with a playlist list on the side—great for structured learning and easy navigation.

2) Grid of Videos

A visual grid layout—great for libraries, browsing, “Netflix-style” collections, and larger content sets.

You can switch layout at any time.

Video with Sidebar settings

This layout features a primary video with a list of playlist videos shown in a sidebar. Great for:

  • courses and learning paths
  • step-by-step onboarding sequences
  • series where viewers should follow a specific order

Playlist sidebar style

When displaying your video with a sidebar, you can choose from three different styling options to match your design preference:

Style 1 – Compact Thumbnail: Shows small video thumbnails for each entry, making it easier for viewers to identify content visually.

Style 2 – Scaled Thumbnail: Shows slightly larger thumbnail previews for each entry, making it easier for viewers to identify content visually.

Style 3 – Detailed View: – Displays a streamlined list of videos beside the main player, keeping the layout clean and minimal.

This flexibility allows you to tailor the playlist interface to suit the user experience you want to deliver.

When the sidebar is visible, the video plays at its default size.

To maximize the video:

  • Click the menu icon in the top-right of the sidebar
  • The sidebar collapses, expanding the video for a more distraction-free viewing experience

This lets viewers switch between navigation-friendly and immersive mode anytime.

Video on focus

The “video on focus” is the main video currently playing.

Click Settings in the Video on focus section to control playback behavior:

  • Remove Controls

Hides the player controls for a cleaner, distraction-free viewing experience.

  • Autoplay Video

Starts the selected video automatically when opened. (Browser restrictions may apply.)

  • Pause video on lost focus

Pauses the video if the user changes tab or navigates away from the page.

Show indexes in playlist

Adds numbering (1, 2, 3…) to videos in the playlist.

Best for:

  • lessons
  • modules
  • step-based training
  • series where order matters

Autoplay the next video

When enabled, the next video starts automatically when the current one ends.

Best for:

  • binge-friendly content
  • guided courses
  • “watch straight through” sequences

Display as collection

This option turns the playlist into a single collection card (instead of showing the full playlist immediately). It typically shows:

  • a collection thumbnail
  • collection title
  • total time and/or number of videos (depending on layout)

When clicked, the playlist opens in a popup or expanded view.

Collection settings

When Display as collection is enabled, you can configure:

  • Thumbnail – click the thumbnail area to upload/replace it
  • Collection title – name shown to viewers for this playlist

This is ideal when you want a clean layout and multiple playlists on the same page.

Shared display toggles

These settings control what appears for viewers (both in the sidebar list and/or the playing view, depending on the toggle):

  • Show video views (video in play)

Shows view count on the active/playing video.

  • Show video views (playlist/grid)

Shows view counts on the list entries (sidebar items).

  • Show video title

    Displays the video title.

  • Show video description

    Displays the video description.

  • Show video reactions

    Enables emoji reactions.

  • Show video comments

Enables comments for each video in the playlist.

Watched tracking (progress)

There are two settings that control how “watched” works:

  • Allow manual “Mark as Watched”

Lets viewers manually mark a video as watched.

  • Mark as “watched” when video is finished

Automatically marks the video as watched when playback reaches the end.

How they work together:

  • If manual is enabled, users can mark watched anytime (useful for skipping or revisiting).
  • If auto-finish is enabled, the system marks watched when the video ends (useful for course progress).
  • You can enable both if you want maximum flexibility.

What viewers see:

A watched video shows a green tick/check beside it.

💡 Tip

If you’re using automations based on completion, “watched” is a powerful trigger for follow-up video actions.

Use Dark Theme

Applies a dark visual theme to the playlist interface (great for modern designs and low-light viewing).

Grid of Videos settings

The Grid Display option organizes videos into a visual gallery — great for:

  • content libraries
  • resource hubs
  • larger collections
  • “Netflix-style” browsing experiences

Number of videos per row

Choose how many videos appear per row in the grid (commonly 2–6 depending on screen size/layout).

Best practices:

  • 2–3 per row for large thumbnails and premium feel
  • 4–6 per row for content libraries and heavy browsing

Grid videos styling

When displaying your videos in a grid format, you have two styling choices:

Style 1 – Simple: A clean, minimalist layout that ensures a streamlined, distraction-free browsing experience.

Style 2 – Bordered (Tile Effect): Adds defined borders around each video, creating a structured, visually distinct tile-style appearance.

Video Popup on Click

When a viewer selects a video from the grid display, it opens in a full-screen popup, ensuring an immersive experience.

Key Features:

  • Comment Visibility Options – Choose to display comments next to the video or below, allowing for easy interaction.
  • Focused Engagement – Keeps discussions tied directly to the specific video, avoiding cross-video comment confusion.
  • Streamlined Navigation – Viewers can enjoy full-screen playback while maintaining access to relevant discussions.

This setup creates a clean, structured user experience, balancing engagement and streamlined playback.

Filter by Category

With category filtering, viewers can easily sort through multiple video categories using neat, accessible buttons displayed above the grid.

How It Works:

  • Category Buttons – Organized at the top of the grid for quick navigation.
  • Effortless Filtering – Selecting a category instantly refines the displayed videos, ensuring faster searchability.
  • Ideal for Large Playlists – Keeps content structured, making it easier to find relevant videos in multi-category collections.

This feature enhances user experience, allowing for a more intuitive way to explore and engage with playlist content.

Shows view counts on the list entries (sidebar items).

  • Show video title

    Displays the video title.

  • Show video description

    Displays the video description.

  • Show video reactions

    Enables emoji reactions.

  • Show video comments

Enables comments for each video in the playlist.
