Countdown widget

Countdown timers do a whole lot more than just tick away.

They are powerful tools for creating urgency, scarcity, and momentum in your offers. You can use them to highlight limited-time promotions, control access to pages when an offer expires, or even trigger different actions automatically when the countdown ends.

The Countdown widget is highly flexible and works just as well for launches and campaigns as it does for evergreen funnels.

Settings

When selecting the Edit tab, a new settings panel opens with three main sections:

  • Countdown type
  • Select time
  • When counter ends

Each section controls a different aspect of how your countdown behaves.

Countdown type

You can choose between three different countdown modes depending on your use case.

Count to date

Use this option when your countdown should end at a specific date and time. You simply select the exact date and time when the offer should expire.

Typical use cases:

  • Product launches
  • Live events or webinars
  • Limited-time promotions with a fixed deadline

Count time

This option counts down a set duration, for example 24 hours or 7 days.

Best used for:

  • Evergreen offers
  • Automated funnels
  • Time-limited bonuses that start per user

Key behavior:

  • The countdown starts when the visitor first loads the page
  • You can choose whether the timer resets on revisit or keeps counting down globally

Count number

Instead of time, this option counts between two numbers.

You define:

  • Starting number
  • Ending number
  • Interval for how often the number changes

Common use cases:

  • Stock counters (for example “Spots remaining”)
  • Social proof counters
  • Gamified or visual effects

When counter ends

This setting defines what happens when the countdown reaches zero (or when the final number is reached).

You have three options:

  • Do nothing

The countdown stops, but the page remains unchanged.

  • Go to page / popup

Redirect visitors to another page or open a popup automatically.

    Great for:

    • Redirecting to a waitlist
    • Sending users to a replay page
    • Moving visitors to the next funnel step
  • Show message

Replace the countdown with a custom message.

    Useful for:

    • “Offer expired” messages
    • Last-chance messaging
    • Soft transitions instead of redirects

💡 Tip

For closed offers, redirecting to a waitlist page is a great way to continue capturing leads even after the deadline.

Styling

The Countdown widget includes several styling options so you can fully align it with your brand and page design.

Size

  • Controls the overall size of the countdown numbers
  • Larger sizes increase visibility and urgency
  • Smaller sizes work well when the countdown is a supporting element

Text color

  • Sets the color of the numbers
  • Use high contrast to ensure readability on all devices

Background color

  • Controls the background behind each number block
  • Useful for highlighting the countdown or matching brand colors

Show days

  • Toggle whether days are displayed
  • Recommended for longer countdowns (multi-day offers)

Show seconds

  • Toggle whether seconds are displayed
  • Adds urgency, especially near deadlines
  • Can feel intense for long-running timers

Add shadows

  • Adds depth and separation between elements
  • Creates a more card-like or modern appearance

Flip with animation

  • Enables animated transitions when values change
  • Makes the countdown feel more dynamic and engaging
  • Best used sparingly for performance and clarity

Show labels

  • Displays labels such as Days, Hours, Minutes, and Seconds
  • Improves clarity for new visitors

Label size

  • Controls the font size of the labels
  • Helps balance hierarchy between numbers and text

Label color

  • Sets the color of the labels independently from the numbers
  • Useful for subtle contrast and clean design

💡 Best practices

  • Use countdowns intentionally — overuse can reduce credibility
  • Match the countdown style to the importance of the offer
  • Avoid overly aggressive timers for trust-sensitive audiences
  • Always test what happens when the counter ends
  • On mobile, ensure numbers and labels remain readable

Used correctly, countdowns are one of the most effective ways to guide attention, drive action, and automate time-based logic across your pages and funnels.
