Add Shipping Options (Sales Settings)

Shipping settings control how delivery options are calculated, displayed, and charged in your store.

This is where you define whether customers pay for shipping, how much they pay, and under which conditions different shipping methods apply.

Shipping can be configured in two main ways:

  • One global shipping setup that applies everywhere, or
  • Country-specific shipping setups, where each country has its own rules

⚠️ Important rule to understand upfront:

You cannot mix global shipping as a fallback with country-specific shipping.

You must choose one approach:

  • Either Global shipping only, or
  • Country-based shipping for every country you deliver to

Where to find Shipping settings

Navigate to Sales & Analytics > Sales Settings > Shipping

From here you can:

  • Add shipping or pickup options
  • Define cost logic (price-based or weight-based)
  • Control which countries or regions each option applies to

Shipping options overview

This section covers how to add and manage shipping options in your store, as well as how to enable the Free Shipping Bar.

Here you define how shipping or pickup is offered, how costs are calculated, and how delivery rules are applied based on order value, weight, and location—while also having the option to encourage higher order values with free shipping reminders.

Adding shipping options

Each shipping option is created via the Add Shipping Option button and configured through a popup.

For every option, you choose:

  • Shipping type: Shipping or Pickup
  • Cost calculation method: Price range or Weight range
  • Geographic scope: Global or specific countries

You can create multiple shipping options, and the system will automatically apply the correct one based on the order.

Free Shipping Bar (optional)

You can enable Add Free Shipping Bar reminder to cart.

This shows a message encouraging customers to add more items to unlock free shipping.

Best used when:

  • You offer free shipping above a certain order value
  • You want to increase average order value

Shipping type

When creating a shipping option, you first choose between:

Shipping

Used for standard delivery to the customer’s address.

Choose Shipping for:

  • Postal delivery
  • Courier services
  • Home or business delivery

Pickup

Used when customers collect the order themselves at a physical location.

Choose Pickup for:

  • Click & collect
  • Local store pickup
  • Event or location-based handover

Shipping costs depend on

This setting controls how the shipping cost is calculated.

Price Range

Shipping cost is based on the total order value.

You define:

  • From (inclusive)
  • To (inclusive)
  • Shipping cost for that price range
    • Can be set to 0 for free shipping
    • Applied automatically when the order matches the defined range

The currency is taken from General settings.

You can stack multiple shipping options to fully cover all scenarios.

💡 Important

Make sure ranges do not overlap unintentionally.

Best for:

  • Digital-first stores with a few physical items
  • Free shipping over a certain order value
  • Simple pricing models

Example:

  • Orders from $0–$49 → $5 shipping
  • Orders from $50–$999 → Free shipping

Weight Range

Shipping cost is based on the total weight of the order.

You define:

  • From weight (inclusive)
  • To weight (inclusive)
  • Shipping cost for that weight range
    • Can be set to 0 for free shipping
    • Applied automatically when the order matches the defined range

The unit (kg, lb, oz) is taken from General settings.

You can stack multiple shipping options to fully cover all scenarios.

💡 Important

Make sure ranges do not overlap unintentionally.

Best for:

  • Physical products
  • Variable product sizes or weights
  • Logistics-driven pricing

Example:

  • 0–1 kg → $4.90
  • 1–5 kg → $9.90

Name

The name is what customers see at checkout.

Use clear, customer-friendly names such as:

  • Standard Shipping
  • Express Delivery
  • Local Pickup
  • Free Shipping

💡 Tip

Avoid internal labels. This name is part of the checkout experience.

Apply for (Geographic scope)

This determines where the shipping option applies.

Global

The shipping option applies to all countries.

Use Global when:

  • You charge the same shipping everywhere
  • You only sell domestically
  • You want a simple setup

⚠️ If you use Global shipping, you cannot add country-specific shipping options.

Specific countries

The shipping option applies only to selected countries.

Use country-specific shipping when:

  • Shipping costs vary by destination
  • You sell internationally
  • Different logistics providers are used per country

⚠️ If you choose country-based shipping:

You must configure shipping for every country you offer delivery to.

There is no global fallback. However, you may apply the same shipping rules to multiple countries in one shipping option.

Pickup places (Pickup only)

If Pickup is selected, you can define one or more pickup locations.

Each pickup place can be:

  • A store address
  • A venue
  • A temporary location (e.g. event)

You can add new Pickup places by clicking Add, then simply write the address, venue name or location in the text field.

Customers choose their pickup location during checkout.

Confirming or canceling a shipping option

At the bottom of the popup:

  • Click Confirm to save the shipping option
  • Click Cancel to discard changes

Shipping options take effect immediately once saved.

Simple domestic store

  • One global shipping option
  • Price-based ranges
  • Optional free shipping threshold

International store

  • Country-specific shipping options
  • Price or weight-based depending on products
  • No global shipping enabled

Local business

  • Pickup option
  • Optional local delivery shipping
  • Clear naming at checkout

Before moving on, make sure you’ve:

  • Chosen either global or country-based shipping (not both)
  • Covered all order values or weight ranges
  • Used clear customer-facing names
  • Added pickup locations if pickup is enabled
  • Verified shipping costs match your margins

Shipping settings directly affect conversion, trust, and customer satisfaction.

Clear, predictable shipping rules reduce friction and abandoned checkouts.
