Add Tax Options (Sales Settings)
Tax settings is a powerful control center for how VAT, sales tax, and other taxes are calculated and applied in your store.
Here you define exactly which tax rules apply, to whom they apply, and under what conditions – giving you full control over pricing accuracy, legal compliance, and customer transparency.
Recrevio’s tax system is built for flexibility and real-world business needs. You can configure taxes:
- Per country
- Per product category
- Per individual product
This lets you handle everything from simple domestic VAT setups to advanced, multi-market tax structures – all within the same system.
⚠️ Important
You must choose one tax structure:
- Either use one global tax rule, or
- Configure country-specific tax rules for every country you sell to
You cannot use a global tax as a fallback if you also define country-based taxes.
Where to find Tax settings
Navigate to Sales & Analytics > Sales Settings > Taxes
From here, you can:
- Add tax rules per country
- Control how tax is calculated
- Decide which products or categories tax applies to
- Include or exclude tax from displayed prices
Tax options overview
The Tax Options section is where you create and manage all tax rules in your store.
Here you define:
- Which country a tax applies to
- The tax name and rate
- Whether tax is percentage-based or fixed
- What the tax applies to (orders, categories, products)
- Whether tax applies to shipping
- Whether business customers are exempt
- Whether to include taxes in the product price, or not
Adding Tax Options by Country
Each tax rule is created by clicking the Add Country button from the main tax options overview, and configured through a popup.

Including tax in product prices
In the main Tax Options view, you can enable:
Include all taxes in the product price

When enabled:
- Displayed prices include tax
- Customers see final prices upfront
When disabled:
- Tax is added at checkout
- Prices are shown excluding tax
💡 Recommendation
- Enable for B2C markets where tax-inclusive pricing is expected
- Disable for B2B-focused stores or regions where tax is typically added at checkout
Adding a tax option
Click Add Country to create a new tax rule.
Each tax rule is defined by the following settings.
Country
Select the country this tax rule applies to.
Options:
- Global – Applies to all countries
- Specific country – Applies only to the selected country
When to use what
- Use Global if you sell only in one tax region or apply the same tax everywhere.
- Use country-specific taxes if tax rates or rules differ by country.
⚠️ If you use country-specific taxes, you must configure tax rules for every country you sell to.
Tax name
Enter a descriptive name for the tax, for example:
- VAT

- Moms
This name may appear in invoices, receipts, and order details.
💡 Tip

- Example: $2 environmental fee
Best used for:
