Video Testimonials widget
The Video Testimonials widget lets you display customer testimonials using video, together with supporting information such as the reviewer's name, role, quote, duration, and star rating.

Video testimonials can be displayed as a grid, list, or slider, making the widget suitable for anything from a small set of featured customer stories to a larger collection visitors can browse through.
Each testimonial can include:
- Video
- Custom thumbnail / poster
- Reviewer name
- Title or role
- Short quote
- Video duration
- Star rating
This article explains how to add and manage video testimonials and customize how they are displayed.
Video Testimonials
The main Video Testimonials section contains all testimonials currently added to the widget.
From here, you can:
- Add new testimonials
- Edit existing testimonials
- Reorder testimonials
- Delete testimonials
Add a testimonial
Click Add to create a new video testimonial.
Reorder testimonials
Use the drag handle next to a testimonial to change its position.
The order shown here determines the order in which testimonials are displayed.
Edit a testimonial
Click the settings icon next to a testimonial to edit its video and supporting information.
Delete a testimonial
Click the trash icon to remove the testimonial.
💡 Tip
Put your strongest or most relevant testimonials first, especially when using a Grid or List layout where visitors may not view every testimonial.
Video
Each testimonial can use either an uploaded video or a linked video.
Upload
Select Upload to upload or choose a video from your media library.
Click Upload or Select a Video to add the video.
💡 Tip
Before uploading, see Video Hosting: Supported Formats & Plan Limits for supported file formats, the 5 GB file-size limit, and video limits by plan.
Link
Select Link when you want to use a supported externally hosted video instead of uploading the file directly.
Hide comments & reactions
Enable Hide comments & reactions when you do not want comments or reactions associated with the video to be displayed.
Use this when the testimonial should function as a clean standalone video without additional social interaction elements.
Thumbnail / poster
The Thumbnail / poster is the image visitors see before playing the video.
Click Change to replace it.
A well-chosen thumbnail can make the testimonial more inviting and help visitors understand who or what the video features before they press play.
Focal point
Drag the focal point to the most important area of the thumbnail.
For portraits, this will normally be the reviewer's face.
The focal point helps keep the important part of the image visible when the thumbnail is cropped into different video proportions.
💡 Tip
Use a clear thumbnail that represents the actual testimonial. Portraits of the reviewer usually work particularly well because they make the testimonial feel more personal.
Reviewer information
You can add supporting information underneath or alongside each video.
Reviewer name
Enter the name of the person providing the testimonial.
For example:
Sophia Bennett
Title / role
Enter additional information about the reviewer.
For example:
Product Designer, Lumen
Other examples could include:
- Founder, Company Name
- Business Coach
- Course Creator
- Member since 2025
- CEO, Company Name
This provides useful context and can strengthen the credibility of the testimonial.
Short quote
Use Short quote to add a brief statement from the testimonial.
This field is optional.
For example:
This is hands down the best decision we made.
The quote gives visitors a quick preview of the customer's experience before they watch the full video.
Duration
Enter the video's duration.
For example:
1:24
Displaying the duration lets visitors know how much time they need to watch the testimonial.
💡 Tip
Keep the short quote genuinely short. Its purpose is to provide a quick reason to watch the video rather than summarize the entire testimonial.
Rating / Score
Select the star rating associated with the testimonial.
The rating can be displayed together with the reviewer information when Show star rating is enabled in the Styling settings.
Use ratings that accurately reflect the customer's feedback.
Layout
The Layout setting controls how multiple video testimonials are arranged.
Available options:
- Grid
- List
- Slider
Grid
Displays multiple video testimonial cards in a structured grid.

This works well when visitors should be able to browse several testimonials at once.
List
Displays testimonials vertically in a list.

This gives each testimonial more space and can work particularly well when the videos or supporting information deserve more attention.
Slider
Displays the testimonials inside an interactive slider.

A slider is useful when you have multiple testimonials but want to keep the section compact.
💡 Tip
Use Grid when browsing is important, List when each testimonial deserves more space, and Slider when you want to display several testimonials without creating a very long section.
Slider Type
When Slider is selected, you can choose how the slider behaves.
Available options:
- Single slide
- Multiple slides
- Auto rotate (no controls)
Single slide
Displays one video testimonial at a time.
This gives each customer story maximum attention.
Multiple slides
Displays several testimonial cards within the slider at the same time.
This works well when you want the compact nature of a slider while still showing multiple customers together.
Auto rotate (no controls)
Automatically rotates through the testimonials without displaying manual slider controls.
This creates a continuously changing testimonial section.
💡 Tip
For video testimonials, manual navigation can be useful because visitors may want to choose which customer story to watch. Auto rotation works best when the section should feel more dynamic without requiring interaction.
Video ratio
The Video ratio setting controls the shape of the video cards.
Available options:
- Landscape 16:9
- Square 1:1
- Portrait 9:16
- Classic 4:3
Landscape 16:9
The standard widescreen video format.
This works well for most traditional video testimonials recorded horizontally.
Square 1:1
Creates a square video card.
Useful for compact layouts or videos created for social media.
Portrait 9:16
Creates a vertical video format.
This works particularly well for testimonials recorded on a phone in portrait orientation.
Classic 4:3
Uses the traditional 4:3 video format.
💡 Tip
Choose the ratio that matches the original video whenever possible. Using a very different ratio can result in unnecessary cropping of the thumbnail or video.
Slider behavior
Additional controls are available for how rotating testimonials behave.
Rotate speed
Controls how long the slider waits before moving to the next testimonial when automatic rotation is used.
The value is displayed in seconds (s).
- Lower value = faster rotation
- Higher value = slower rotation
For example, 40s gives visitors substantially more time before the next testimonial appears.
Pause on hover
Enable Pause on hover to pause automatic rotation when a visitor places the cursor over the testimonial.
This can make it easier to read supporting information or interact with a card without it changing unexpectedly.
💡 Tip
Video content requires more time than ordinary text slides. If you use automatic rotation, choose a generous rotation speed and consider enabling Pause on hover.
Card content
These settings control which supporting elements are displayed together with each video.
Show star rating
Enable Show star rating to display the rating selected for each testimonial.
Disable it if you prefer a cleaner testimonial design without stars.
Hide card footer (video only)
Enable Hide card footer (video only) when you want the testimonial cards to focus only on the video without displaying the supporting footer content.
This can create a cleaner, more minimal video gallery.
Use the full card when the reviewer name, role, quote, duration, or rating provides useful context.
Theme and colors
These settings control the visual appearance of the testimonial cards.
Theme
Choose the overall theme used for the widget.
Available options:
- Light
- Dark
Choose the option that works best with the surrounding page background and your website design.
Play button
Controls the color of the video play button.
Choose a color that stands out clearly against the thumbnail.
For consistency, use one of your website's Global Colors whenever possible.
Card background
Controls the background color of the testimonial cards.
Make sure the selected background works well with the video thumbnail and supporting text.
Common use cases
The Video Testimonials widget works particularly well for:
- Sales pages

- Course and program pages
- Membership offers
- Coaching services
- Product pages
- Customer story sections
- Case study pages
- Home pages
- Signup or purchase sections
Video testimonials can be especially effective near important conversion points where visitors may want reassurance from real customer experiences.
Best practices

- Keep individual videos reasonably concise
- Use clear thumbnails featuring the reviewer when possible
- Add reviewer names and roles when you have permission
- Use short quotes to give visitors a reason to press play
- Match the Video ratio to the source material
- Avoid fast automatic rotation
- Use Pause on hover when auto rotation is enabled
- Display star ratings only when they add useful context
- Keep the strongest testimonials first
- Check the layout and thumbnail cropping on both desktop and mobile
